FYI - I have had a .62 cal smoothbore barrel on order from Green Mountain since Feb. At that time they said 12 weeks. That would have taken me to June. I called in June and they said August. Called today and they said three more months!

This is ridiculus. Has anyone else had these problems with GM before?

Terrible customer service IMO.

I wonder how long it would take if you were one of the big shot gun builders?

Just an opinion...

Call them up and tell them to cancel your order and give you your money back . Call Track o t Wolf or Dixie or anyone that sells GM barrels and see if they have what you want , in stock . :m2c:

BTW , that IS ridiculous , sounds like they are jerking you around ! What will you do if after 3 MORE months , they tell you 3 more months . I think you have given them more than enough time , and have been more than patient with them . Sometimes you need to get rude and crude . :imo: :results:

I am about ready to give up on ordering things not in stock. I've been waiting 9 months for a custom barrel and I won't do it again. I'll just call around till I find somehting in stock somewhere that will work. it's just too frustrating and I'd rather be building guns. My advice is to cancel the order and call TOW or Tip Curtis etc until you find something that will work for you.

I cancelled it yesterday. The thing is that nobody else has them either. Tip curtis is out of them, so is TOW, Mc Cains, etc.

If you want a smooth bore barrel from some one who normally has them in stock call Larry Zornes. He runs the Mold and Gun shop. He advertises in Muzzleloader and Muzzleblasts. I have one and am well satisfied. BJH

I'll second the motion for Larry, he's a good man to do business with. Vernon Davis is another dealer that always has barrels in stock. Both guys have been around for awhile and have a pretty good reputation.

Vernon Davis is an exelent person to do buisness with. He also has English flints at a good price. Phone # is 1-614-761-2568 He is a very trusting man, Sent me a bag of flints on my word that I would send payment.I got the flints probably before he got the payment. :m2c:

That kind of a wait is not unheard of but usually it is from a custom barrel maker, not a production maker. I'd call Vern Davis (ads in Muzzle Blasts), he has a hell of a bunch of barrels in stock. Rayle, Colerain, Getz and more.
