Here is a very nice classic recreation of the Hawken rifle Caliber is .54, capable of taking most everything in this country. This was made in the 70s with serial # H-26, signed with Doc White's initials. white was a principal in GRRW and a writer in many magazines of the day. This rifle is in excellent condition with a fine bore. Wood is nearly perfect. These are getting harder to find and especially one made by the master. 36" barrel. Set triggers work fine. It's ready to hunt this fall! $2500 plus $100 shipping and insurance. SOLD PENDING FUNDS

I may be wrong on that date. That's when I started to see Doc White's articles. He may have started GRRW later. Does it matter?
The (ca) started at a much later date can't remember exactly what year but not grrw per say but the builders that worked there my hawken rifle and trapper pistol are the nicest I've ever seen !!

Mtman, I'm getting up in age and my kids are not interested. My son hunts but he's not a "gun guy". And I've had enough accidents that hunting with an expensive rifle may not make good sense. And I like my Santa Fe Hawken despite the criticism and my original Zouave. Life is good with any of these rifles, cowrustler

I would be in but right how its just out of my reach. Thanks for getting back to me.

These are the classic Hawken builds- really an investment in history and quality. Thank you for pointing out that this is less than one can find a new GRRW cost.
