Hello to all. I am glad to be here and look forward to learning and sharing. I have been collecting C&R for a few years, but just picked up my first BP revolver and rifle. Looking at casting in the near future.

Welcome to the forum! You are definitely in the right place to learn about Traditional BP. Plenty of very experienced members here who would be more than glad to answer any questions that you may have. Also alot here cast their own balls. You can use the search feature and read topics that you might be interested in and will more than likely find the answers to your questions. If not you can always ask away! What kind of BP guns do you have? Respectfully, cowboys1062.

I just picked up a Pietta 44cal 1851 Navy and a Replica Arms 58cal 1841 Mississippi rifle. The revolver is nearly perfect and was 100 at the gun show. I purchased the rifle for 150 on Armslist. The guy I got the rifle from used it for reenactments and kept it in good shape. He said he took it out for target shooting a few times, but it has mostly lived lead free. I think I did okay.

:metoo:

The .44 cal Navy never existed historically, but everyone on here that owns one says that it's their favorite revolver.

The 1841 Mississippi rifle .58 cal is also nice.

Both were a steal at the prices you paid. Hey Claude, we need a smiley for "envy".

:haha:
