I thought that you all might like to see a powder horn I just finished-up! __ I engraved a scene of a hunter ambushed by a Grizzly and his three hounds attempting to rescue him. The back side of the horn I engraved a Grizzly and covered the rest of the horn with floral and traditional VVVV border engraving.

Hope you enjoy it and thanks for looking,
Rick

That man is the best depiction of a human I've ever seen in any scrimshaw. His face is almost like a photograph.

FANTASTIC SKILL!

Fighting a bear with your rifle over your shoulder... now that's a mountain man!

I'm continually amazed at the amount of talent displayed here and on some other sites. We have some true talent in this sport! :hatsoff:

Very nice work...love man's best friend helping in the battle, especially the dog on the bears back...and him hold'n onto his rifle during the battle shows the intensity of the life and death struggle...example would be the time I was swept away by rising water released up stream from a dam...by the time I made it back to shore I realized I was still holding onto my flyrod, this most certainly was not intentional on my part! :v

If I were half as good as you I would quit work now and do horns full time. Excellent work very clean, clear and crisp details.....
