Can anyone tell me the depth of the grooves in my TC White Mt Carbine? 50 cal; 1-20 twist; ser num 153xx. Thank you,

I don't know about the fast twist depths. But most T.C.,s had grooves .005 deep. :idunno:

Probably around. .005 inch. But what is most important is that early WM Carbines came with a 1/48 twist, but I dont know when they changed to the 1/20.
I'm sure there is a big difference in the two twists when testing it though.

Thank you for the information.

I don't own one but my hunting buddy does. I don't know the rate of twist but I know his is fast. His will stabilize my paper patched 460 gr bullets. His shoots them like a dream come true. Ron

Hey Ron ,that is a big Buck there, looks like a Meule deer Whitetail hybrid.
Did you ever try any of those No Excuses 460 grn bullets-50cal.

Early WMC's were 1/20,wouldn't shoot rb for crap.
After a few years changed to 1/38 which shoot rb good with lighter charges. This direct from TC's tech line back when they were TC.

Those no excuse bullets do shoot very good. I didn't keep using them because I wanted full control of my loads. Ron
