Wanted to make my own tow, so I tried the cheap route: buying a pound of flax seed from a health food store. I wasn't sure if the stuff would sprout, so I planted a small patch just to see if the seed was viable, and what the sprouts looked like. Boy, stand back! The flax just leapt out of the soil. For $1.50, I have enough seed to grow a small forest of this stuff. The health food store variety is a shorter variety than the classic fiber flax grown for making linen, but will produce gobs of shorter fiber and plenty of tow.

Ya better keep that quiet or ya might have to share with The Dread. :: Sounds like you are really getting into the traditional stuff big time. :: Glad i got the two of you together, gives Dread someone to TALK to. :: He needed an ear closer to him to chew on. Long distance phone calls get expensive. Take care.
