Hair dye for powder horn?

Has any one tried hair dye to color cow horn.
Does it work?
Does it keep?
Any help would be much appreciated.

hair dye will work on horns , hair and horns have the same make up. you will need to experiment on a junk horn till you achieve the color your looking for. rit dye will also work , as well as many other methods . its all in the ( look ) that your after . hope this helps .... :grin:

I never used hair dye on a horn but did use Rit dye that comes in the little box and it worked well.
And on a plus side it is cheaper than hair dye witch is more important to me :rotf:
One box of Dark Brown with a very little black(a pinch or two) works great on the spout.

Rit dye is designed for dying fabric and you can find at grocery stores, drug stores, Target.

yep it will diffently color you hair , hands , clothes , and a host of other things . as far as thinning hair your on your own :rotf:
