Hammers for William Moore shotgun

I have a William Moore 12 bore double barrel. The barrels are in fair condition, stock good shape, but the left hammer needs replacing.
It has been brazed, and the cup has broken, (see pics).
The right hammer does not match the left in style, but it is in good useable shape.
I'd like to find a left hand hammer matching the right one... or a set of replacement hammers.
I scoured Gun Parts, it's not in DGW'S catalog, and an online search was fruitless.
Some someone help me here?

As you probably know, Dixie Gunworks offered many different styles and sizes of hammers 15 or so years ago. These were usually castings that didn't even have the tumbler hole drilled let alone filed into a square.

Anyway, I find it difficult to believe they sold all of them but because they aren't something most people would be interested in buying I can see why they are not mentioned in the Dixie website.

You might give them a call at 1-731-885-0700. Ask them if they still have some of those old hammers. Also ask them if you send them your photos and some dimensions like the overall height and diameter of the nose of the hammer if they would be willing to go out back and look thru what they have.

Don't forget to tell them if it is a right or left hammer that you need. If they have both you probably should buy them. You never know when you might need something like that.

You might be lucky and end up with just the thing you need.

You might call next week and have better luck. Some of them are in Friendship this week.

I would call track of the wolf,(1-763-633-2500) they sell hammers. I think if you sent a hammer to them they would match best they can and you could bend or file to fit.

I think you should have first asked her if you could speak with a manager or someone who is in charge.
It sounds like you got one of the typical people who just work the phone answering desk.

Give it a day or so and call back.

Unfortunately, my latest Dixie catalog is a 2011 but it shows 39 different percussion hammer castings they offered then. That's only 8 years ago.

The "throw" is the distance from the axis of the tumbler (where the screw is located) to the nipple. I think the 1/8 and similar throws are misprints. If you call, that could be a real good reason for talking to someone who actually knows about these things instead of the telephone answering person. With this in mind, perhaps you could say something like,
"HP5011 hammer doesn't show what the throw distance is. Could I speak to somone who would know?"
