I guess it depends on where you live. I would not do it because it invites thieves. In my area , a guy comes to service this or that and cases the place. I leave zero evidence of firearms or accessories in plain sight. In a couple of months workman comes back, or sends his buddies, and steals your guns. This exact thing just happened to a hunting buddy. About $50K gone. That is one reason I am shopping houses in a different state.

Also, if you ever have a LEO or social worker in your house, none secured guns could become a major problem. In my state it is a crime to not secure firearms.
