Jethro and I will be at Friendship tomorrow through the 12th. I hope to get to meet as many of you here on this forum as I can!

I will be bringing along a couple of excellent condition TC Hawken rifles with me for barter material in hopes of getting a fairly nice Flinter.

My feelings wont be hurt if I'm not successful. Both rifles are real nice and I wouldn't think twice about bringing them back home. I'm not selling them and am only considering using them as a part of a trade deal to get a nice flinter.

Will have Jethro with me so I'll have someone very experienced to keep me on the right path.

I am overjoyed with having this opportunity to get to go to Friendship! Been counting the days.

I truly hope I will see some of you there!

Respectfully, Cowboy :hatsoff:

You lucky duck. You're in for a treat. When I lived in Indiana, I went to Friendship for both the spring and fall shoots. I can't say that visiting Friendship is better than kissing girls but it is right up there. Enjoy yourself and don't forget to allow time to visit the flea market going on next door to the range and across from the church in town. Ya just never know what you might find. Good luck on finding the flinter of your dreams. :hatsoff:

Enjoy your trip. But stay away from venders' row. They will take all of your money! :idunno: :idunno:

Good Luck Cowboy I'm sure you'll have a blast .Its something to see for sure . I'm not going to make the Spring shoot but plan to be back there in theFall. I'm sure this won't be your last trip.

Cowboy

look me up, I am heading there on friday as well.

Will be there until tuesday am.

We will be in various places. But I do shoot at the mini creedmore, which is the 500 yard target.

I dont know if we will shoot the woods walk with the forum. Too many people makes this type A impatient. I got 4 or 5 in my group, will most likely shoot it with them.

If you are walking along the road, heading towards town, I am camped near the road, green cabelas tent with the air conditioner.....

Hey Cowboy - bring and shoot your Tingle in the woodswalk, I'll bring mine, we'll have a Tingle sub match. Loading and working out of the bag is going to be a challenge for me, haven't done this in years, and looking forward to it.

The weather guessers are calling for hot and humid this weekend, typical Friendship weather, but that's fine.

I just shot my Tingle last Sunday. Had a BP shoot in Leroy IL.

I'm bringing my Sharon Trade Rifle. Haven't shot this muzzleloader yet. I definitely want to check your Tingle out though!

It's going to be quite an experience for me as well. Never shot from my Possibles Bag and used my Powder Horn neither.

Always been strictly a range shooter working out of my Range Box.

Anyway, I'll see ya at Friendship :)

Respectfully, Cowboy

Art,

Don't know exactly where I'll be or what the plan is. I'm playing it by ear and having Jethro show me the ropes and the grand tour. I'm just along getting the opportunity to check Friendship out and will enjoy every minute of it. He's going to introduce me to alot of people and show me around. I'm very lucky to have someone like him to be with for my first time.

Hopefully I will get to meet you while we're there.

Respectfully, Cowboy

We will be up on the hill in the primitive camp. Up near the top left where the Widowmakers always camp.

We'll try and look you up, Fleener.

Not sure if I'll shoot the forum woodswalk or not. Depends when the Widowmakers shoot the Big Honkin' Musket woodswalk.

Are you only staying till Sunday? That will be a short shooting weekend. I will arrive Saturday around noon but stay until after the Ft. Greenville match on Tuesday.

I got to stop along the way and pick up my new to me flintlock. Hopefully it is not a POS.

And then pick up powder at Crater along the way.

Fleeer

I don't know what the prices for powder are like at this place, Crater, but if I were you, I'd buy my powder at Friendship. The powder magazine is located behind the big house on the hill and the prices are the best you will find anywhere. That's where I used to buy all of my powder.

Yep. Gotta be back at work Monday. One of these days I'll have enough vacation time to stay longer.

Call in sick. You have a condition called BPF (Black Powder Fever). :haha: You shouldn't go to work in that condition.

I hope you're taking camping gear or already have reservations in one of the motels in the area. If not, you may have to look for lodging as far away as 50 miles from Friendship. The motels in the nearby area are usually booked solid well in advance.

I have two friends who have a small travel trailer permanently parked up on the hill next to the education building. Their names are Tim Hamblin and Chuck Paul. Two great guys and worth meeting. If you happen to run into them, tell them that Bill Martin said "Hello".

I'm glad you guys can stay for a couple days. I meant to be there Friday morning and stay until Wed. I pull a camper down, but a rear spring shackle on my truck broke, and can't pull the camper down. I'll drive my car down on Monday, see friends, and drive home that night. Best I can do this time. I'm hoping for better luck come September.
Regards,
Pletch
