Hello from a new one !

I'm French and I'm very interested in black powder percussion guns.

So that's the right forum to be !

Some twenty years ago, I used to practice modern pistol shooting, but at last I found it boring so I stopped.

Two years ago, I discovered black powder guns.

Much more than shooting, it's one of the most interesting gun activity involving ballistic calculations, gunsmithing, history learning ”¦

So it's now a passion for me.

I'm using for that :

- Pedersoli .44 R&S revolver (25 yards shooting)

- Uberti .44 Dragoon Colt (25 and 50 yards shooting)

- Original .44 New Model 1858 Union Army Remington revolver (manufactured in oct. 1863) fully engraved (from time to time 25 yards shooting !)

- Pedersoli .54 Rocky Mountain Maple model Kawken rifle (50 and 100 yards shooting)

My main activity is target shooting, but I would like to hunt in the future (wild boars with my Hawken or small games with a percussion shotgun ”¦ ). But not so easy in France !

My last point of interest in relation to that activity is the studying of US history and in particular the civil war. I'm reading a lot of books on that topic ”¦ The one on the way is the memoirs of U.S. Grant. Wonderful !

So a lot of ideas to share !

All the best !

Philippe
