Hi all! I am pretty much new to the muzzleloader scene, but I hope to get out to the range once or twice a month.
My grandfather passed away on May 8th of this year and left me one, of many, of his muzzleloader rifles. It appears to be hand made, as were most of his rifles. All that I received was the rifle with a leather buttstock cover and shoulder strap (and the ramrod of coarse).
The first firearm I ever used was one of my grandfather's muzzleloaders, and I feel honored to have one of them.
I picked up a rifle cleaning kit from cabelas a few days ago and cleaned up the rifle really well, the nipple seems to be fairly new as well. The gun was very well taken care of, also.
I plan to pick up some round balls, powder, and all the other necessary accessories needed to start using the rifle on Monday, and to get out to the range with a friend on Tuesday to practice.
I should be here more in the future for reading and questions as they come up, but for now it's just a hello and introduction!
