Hello everyone. I was not interested in muzzleloaders until my son asked for a Brown Bess for Christmas. After doing as much research as I could on the subject I finally bought him a replicate made by Pedersoli and at the same time found myself hooked on the subject. I now have a .50 cal Lyman Great plains rifle and a .54 cal Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawkins with a maple stock. Both rifles are percussion. I plan on using the .54 cal for hog hunting in Tennessee in October. I am relatively new to black powder shooting so I am very happy to find a forum such as this where I can talk to others who are interested in the subject.

Welcome Rick :hatsoff: I've been thinking about getting a Rocky Mountain Hawken, how do you like your's.

:hatsoff: Howdy and welcome to the world of BP.Good luck with your journey.Griz

Welcome to the forums. I too love to hog hunt, but before you drive down to hunt hogs, read the NEW hog regs for Tennessee. About 98% of the state has no hog hunting this year. Unless you're a land owner. Again, welcome to the forums!

Welcome Rick, I've got lots of good buddies down there. Keep us posted on that hog hunt!

welcome to the forum. New hog regs suck, we don't have any hogs on our land. but I expect that we will soon, heck every one will have hogs. TWRA has a way of screwing things up. their only success in the last 30 yrs has been wild turkey restoration and now you can kill 6 in the fall in some counties either sex and 4 in the spring.
