Looking around I seem to be a little on the inexperienced side (chronologically speaking) from the rest of you on the forum. I just turned 24 in october and I recently picked up a very abused CVA hawken at a gun show that I am in the process of reblueing and Staining. I've got the barrel done and have begun the long process of staining the stock.

I have a back ground in Civil war reenacting although it is on the mounted cavalry side, so I havn't messed with muzzel loading rifles too much. My grandpa put about 4 BP kits together when I was younger and I have shot those a bit with him but it has been a long time.
I look forward to learing from all the veteran smoke pole shooters on the site.
