I've never used Swiss. DuPont/Goex used to have a plant 60 miles away and that is what I have been shooting for 48 years. I get mine from www.powderinc.com since New York State made a law that retailers have to store blackpowder in a seperate building that customers cannot enter. What sporting goods store has a "spare" building to store blackpowder for sale close enough for a clerk to walk and get it?
Thanks for the reply and information. I watched a little video on powders last night and evidently Swiss might be the only one that has made with dogwood alder charcoal. Which is said to produce 10% more gas on a equal charge versus other powders and supposedly less fouling.

Powder and caps seem to be ridiculously hard to get here lately. At least with a round ball mold I never have to worry about those. My 1858 pietta Buffalo does not shave a ring of lead with a 451. I just acquired a 454 but I haven't had a chance to go shoot yet but I am hoping I see some lead shaved with it. I'm afraid I might have should have ordered the 457.

Powder valley is the place I was talking about where I found powder and stock without a ridiculous hazmat fee and minimum order. But unfortunately for all of that they have no caps.

It is a shame they let such a ridiculous law go through in your state
