By the way, the price offered by a dealer at a gun show will always be less than the retail value.
Of course, I was looking at a C&B revolver at a table kickin it with the man, when this other dealer came over with the pistol. Both where clueless as to what it was, I named it, the guy looked it up in his book and sure`nuff, there was the list price.
I continued to tell these guy's I run the Rendezvous circuit and have access to pistols in that venue all the time,, off hand I told him he could get $100 easy enough, much more and he might sit on it for awhile. He said thanks an took off.
(the man was in a wheel chair)
Awhile later I saw a guy carrying it around, I asked him where he got it?
He's the one that told me it was his and the dealer only offered him 75, I asked what he wanted, the guy went off on a triad about how rare it was and an antique, he even pointed to the pewter nose cap calling it a special kind of "German Silver" that made this one even more unique and that if he couldn't get 200 he was keeping it.
I told him how nice it was, and how carefull he should be around gunshow dealers,, :youcrazy:
Takes all kinds ta make the world go`round, gotta love it.
p.s. I went back later that day and bought the C&B revolver,
