Hello,
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this in. I’ve been building a hawken over the last few months and I’ve done all I can with what I have but I need someone to do some work on it for me as I don’t have the equipment to properly do the rest of the work and need names of people to try. I’ll need my barrels existing plug removed and rethreaded(I assume) with my new plug installed. On top of that I’ll need a pair of staples installed and my lock drilled and tapped(L&R lock). It’ll need a ramrod rib installed too. Final thing is I have an old Tasco 1860 scope I bought to put on it because why not. One thing I can’t wrap my mind around is my triggers. From L&R also. Double set trigger but I have to set the trigger each time to fire which isn’t the case on all my other rifles with set triggers am I missing something? I’d prefer not to ship the rifle but if I have to I will. I’m in arizona. Thank you.

Perhaps the rear trigger is impinging on the sear bar when unset. You need a little play in there so you can cock the rifle and then set the triggers. I had that on a couple of rifles and filed the rear trigger so it cleared the sear. You can feel it if it is touching the sear when you seat the triggers or use some lipstick.
