Hello, excited to be a new member. I recently came into possession of a 1838 Harpers Ferry M1916 conversion done by Henry Leman. I've done some research and found some interesting information which always leads to more questions. Hope I can get some help finding more answers. What I have found is that in 1862, Henry Leman converted 1600 muskets from the Schuykill Arsenal to percussion. They were requisitioned by General Lane of the Kansas Free State Army (Jayhawkers, Red Legs ). Other sources say these muskets were utilized by the Army of the Potomac. I'm not sure where to go from here and any help would be appreciated.

Is there any significance of the 12 and the + above it?

Thanks, Mike
