I own a 1800 Henry plains rifle (buffalo rifle) I've looked for information but not much luck

1800 would be a flintlock, as percussion caps weren't invented for another 30 years (+/-)

There was a J. Henry & Son made rifles out of Pennsylvania around 1860

Maybe in the states but percussion caps in the Uk were first made of iron in the early 1800,s . The first gun maker to use the percussion iron caps was James Rowntree of Barnard Castle Co Durham UK this he built a sxs shotgun for a Johsua Shaw under Shaws Instructions before he emigrated to America on Board the Electra in 1817

I've always wanted to visit the museum, a bucket list thing. They also bought and sold parts, I think they supplied Colt(Patterson) with barrels for his early rifles using a cylinder.

Some pictures would help a lot! There are some real gurus (definitely not me) here that can tell a lot just by the shape and configuration alone. Good luck!
