I forged this knife from 1084 HC steel. I drew the temper out to about RC 54-56. It has a green bone handle, one brass pin and an iron wire wrap that is gently peened to fit the natural contours of the green bone handle.

The sheath is punished elk rawhide, brass tacked. The fringe is brain tannned doeskin. A few jingle cones and two original period beads. Wtih the exception of the beads (which were already old), everything was punished to look aged and patinaed.

The blade is about 3 3/4 inches in lenght the total length is about 7.

I like it, looks old to me. Good job. I about gave a friend a heart attack because he made me a beautiful bowie
knife and I "punished" it til it looked like it had made a few trips aver the Rockies. He's hardly speaking to me yet.
