Glad to find you folks. I am a competitive rifleman, but I am a complete rookie when it comes to muzzleloaders. Picked up an older model Knight disc rifle new earlier this year, and I'm just getting started working with it. Took it apart to clean it and learn the function of its parts. I did purchase and install a conversion package so that it will handle three pellets instead of two. Had a very old Zeizz scope lying around (says "Made in WEST Germany on it"), and I pulled out the torque wrenches and got it correctly mounted. Fired the rifle yesterday just to get a feel for things, and at least got her on paper. and I'll start working up some loads next week.

I look forward to looking through the old posts. I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions, but I'll try to learn by reading before asking.

Best,
Jon

P.S. - I just went through the forums, and is this not a place where in-line hunters are welcome? If I have come to the wrong place, I do apologize - probably should have checked the topic headings before signing up.

bigjon - welcome aboard. you still found a good forum. even though inlines are not discussed here you can still tap a wealth of info. who knows, you may even develop a fondness for sidelocks. feel free to browse and jump in.

Big Jon,
Welcome to the MLF, glad to have you stop by.
Although there is a wealth of information at this site
no matter what you mite shoot we are a site that discusses
traditional guns(i.e. flintlocks, percussion locks etc).
Hope you enjoy your visit while you are here.
again welcome
I am snake-eyes :hatsoff:

Hey Big Jon, Welcome to the forum. I've been into Traditional M/L for @ 25 yrs, and we all start somewhere. If you like to tinker with stuff, traditional is the way to go,but if it's not for you, don't sweat it, enjoy your in-lines,it's just not what we are about. Maybe if ya stick around awile, you may want to try our way of doing things.

Good Luck!

Bigjon!Glad to see You are developing an interest in front loaders.I hope that eventually You decide to try Traditional muzzleloaders. In general the discussions here are limited to History and Traditional muzzleloading. There are some members here that use both, but discuss their interest in the in-lines on other Boards. There was formerly a thread or two here on in-lines but was found to create too much controvercy and was discontinued.Feel free to ask any questions that would pertain to Traditional weapons. Some answers would apply to both Traditional and in-line,such as safety issues and loads for patched round ball for a given cal. Etc.Hope You enjoy Your new endeavor. :front:
