Last year, I invited video viewers to join me on a "historic trekking weekend" at the NMLRA grounds. It was an open invitation, with no requirements for gear or skill level. We had 28 attendees, ages ranged from 12 to 79.

It was a casual event, with enough downtime to share knowledge, stories, and tips. We shot the woods walk, hiked around the hills, shivered, and shared some beautiful autumn weather.

Our 12-year-old finished his Chambers Little Fellar kit the night before the camp, he and his father couldn't get enough shooting on the range. Several attendees had never shot a muzzleloader before, even though they owned them. It got down to 33 the first night, and 35 the second night, but the cold brought on some good friendships the next morning as fires were built.

Nice job promoting black powder shooting and living history! Great turn out for the first year. I am marking my calendar for next year.

Very nice of you. Most of my historical trekking has been by canoe or larger historical boats.
As a member of the Corps of Discovery back in the early 2000s we built a used all the boats of the expedition.
Before that, I floated most of the river here in Missouri in a canoe, winter, and summer.
Here's a photo of me on the Missouri River in early March, if you flip a canoe at this Temp your chances of survival are slim.
