At 3 oclock est the History Channels Wild West Tech will have a program about the solitary life of the Mountain Man in the first half of the 1800's or something like that I'm going to tape it and see if they have anything new on there.

I disagree. If you're already an expert on the subject, it won't be anything new. But it's a good introduction to the era. It's also just plain entertaining in general, considering how detailed most school history books go into the topic, which is not at all. The History Channel's 'Boone & Crockett' wasn't of much interest to seasoned reenactors, but most people I've heard from thought it was a good show nonetheless.

It didn't seem to have the content it was advertized to have. I agree with Rex though. It was better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

History should be taught as it was, not :bull:history as the PC freaks of today re-write it to suit their political agendas.

I have lost count the number of the times I have been watching a much touted HC program only to be jarred into a search for the remote by some PC crappola. :shake:

And those so called (one size fits all) professors and experts they trot out for all occasions, what a bunch of losers. :yakyak:

A History Channel program is surely no worse than a high school text book. But the History Channel has one big advantage: Watching it is optional.

True, but for the uninitiated or uninformed who may accept it as gospel, that is very bad indeed.

I have heard adnauseam from the HC that muzzleloading rifles could only fire at most two or thee shots, before becoming so fouled as to be useless. You would think even the HC would know of a certain little item called a well slobbered up spit patch that in effect cleans as you go between shots. I have fired well over 20 shots without having to clean.

Especially the one that was forced to admit he was a plagerist. :RO:
