My father when in the Royal Navy during the 14/18 war{New era periods to those in the US} was a boy seaman in the south atlantic squadron. Served on HMS Glasgow which fought in the battles of Coronel and the Falkland islands. Two vast but virtually unknown battles, worth, for those interested, in searching the web to find details as this was a real 'Boys adventure stuff'.
In relation to this my existance ghas been Mundane. Structural engineering,Mineing technology,Motor trade and the final years in the Banking world....Yawn.
My first Japanese sword bought as a present by 2She who rules" followed by a travelling life in which I aquired around 200 swords,sic full armours, ten Teppo, numerous masks ans a selection of pole arms and fitting for swords/guns/Naginata,
During this period I met and became friends with a Dr FATurk,University lecturere & Author on things Japanese as well as much more.
One time memeber of the British TO-Ken socoiety,JSSUS sword society and the NBTHK of Japan.
Now retired via an accident of nature, we live by the sea,mumble a great deal about world situations and politics and sell some of my now vastly deminished collection to travel {As the pension went 'Belly up'}
This has ment that the 'Boss' no longer moans about my collecting days, even says that she wished I had aquired more..........this due to visits to China,Russia, Canada (She only) and all of Europe.
