Good Evening:
This was my father’s rifle.
When he died, I inherited it, along with all his muzzleloaders.
I have not shot this, as I prefer my Hawken rifles.
Description:
*Marked on top barrel flat: “Challanger MFG. Corp”, “Hopkins & Allen”, “<- Improved ->”
*Marked on left barrel flat: “Heritage”, “Cal. 45”, “155-0049”
*31-1/2 inch barrel
*Browning is decent, with some patina
*Longitudinal grooves on top flat, from rear sight to front sight
*Front sight is a dovetailed bead, adjustable for windage.
*Rear sight is a barrel-mounted peep sight, adjustable for both windage and elevation.
*Bore light shows a bore in good condition, with no catches or hang-ups as I run a patch through it.
*Brass ramrod ferules, one with a sling fitting on it.
*Full-length ramrod in good condition.
*Repaired longitudinal split along bottom of forend.
*Lock functions properly
*Patina on browned receiver/trigger housing
*Slight wobble at junction of receiver/barrel
*Buttstock in good shape with honest wear, deep brass patch box, and brass buttplate
Once it is sold, I will attempt to drive out the pin that attaches the barrel to the receiver, so shipping is not so high.
Overall, this rifle appears to be in nice shape, and should make someone a fine gun.
I’ve attached several images – I have left them large for detail.
$300 + Shipping
Thanks
