I am wanting to build a buffalo horn rack for my shop. What would be good to fill them with other than a wood plug where they could be screwed to a board? Thanks!

Bondo or thickened epoxy. but then get the nut inserts to thread into the bondo. counter sink the back and used bolts to secure the horns. a screw may strip out the bondo, where the nut inserts have a much larger surface area and less likely to strip out. or set a piece of wood into the filler to screw into.

I think that I would use just a glued in fitted Oak wood base plug and peg the horn to these, as a powder horn would be pegged. But before attaching this plug with glue, pre-drill the inside center of the Oak base and use 1/4" diameter carriage bolt (with head on inside) to anchor horn thru your rack. Countersink the carriage bolt nuts on the back of the rack and your ready to go! No need to fill them with anything, as their tougher than you can imagine.
