Hello,

For Christmas I received an October Country Horn Strap. It's the leather single carry with the laces on the end and slits. Can't figure out the correct way to attach it to the staple on the back and the horn itself up front.

Anyone have one and maybe can explain. I contacted October Country. Their supposed to email me instructions but that was a long time ago and no email.

Thanks,

Mike

Can't help you there...but it sounds like one I bought from OC 8-10 years ago and if so you should enjoy it as its excellent leather.

I wanted a good supply of quality leather for traditional leather flint wraps and wanted them to be consistent from the same size and type of leather for a number of years...I think it was 1/8" x 2" x 55" when I got it

Mike,
Took a look at the OC single strap and the photo is to small to see any detail. That said, you mention staples on the front and back of your horn. On the front spout end. The strap should go thru the staple..wrap around the horn and then knotted or wrapped back to the strap. The front staple is not for directly attaching your strap, but only as a "Keeper Loop", much like you have on a regular belt for trousers. This keeps the strap from sliding backwards or forwards.

I think that you will have to trim and modify your strap ends for the type horn you have, as it is probably made for just looping around a horn spout and knob on the base end.

Good Luck,
Rick
