Finished up this horn strap this evening. The strap was wove? weaved?......... what-ever on my inkle loom using #3 weight crochet cotton, and is 55" long, by 5/8" wide. The photo does not do justice to the colours, but it is navy, light blue and white.

Soggy,
Very nice job on that strap.. I really like the colors combo... :thumbsup:

:thumbsup: Thanks Cookie and Two Bellys;
This is something that I'm just getting started with, still got LOTS to learn. I tried "Card Weaving" but that didn't work out so good :redface: . Inkle weaving seems to be more "user friendly" (at least for me :winking: ) There is a wealth of info on the net covering both these forms of weaving.

I like inkle weaving alot... you can do alot with it and it doesnt take long before you will be making your pattern as you string it....

card weaving is just like dealing with a 4 harness loom string wise but you dont have the loom to keep things straight for you lol.. I do like the more intricate designs you can do, but I have not done much of this type of weaving lately either... I tie up my cards to my inkle loom makes it a bit easier.. looking forward to seeing more creations...

Nice job Soggy! :thumbsup: :hatsoff: And you were worried about those pastel colours :youcrazy: You really don't need the bright colours to make a nice horn strap, although I agree it would be nice for varity. I admire the way you get completely into something and master it in a short time. :applause: nice work!

:redface: Sorry Cookie, I wasn't paying attention; got too excited about that strap. Obvoiusly that reply was ment for Soggy

Very nice strap. I like the colors also. How long did it take you to make it?
Billk :thumbsup:

Great looking strap Soggy and congrats on your workmanship. :hatsoff:

I have tinkered with the idea of cobbling up an inkle loom, think I will now have a go at it.

:hatsoff: Thanks for all the positive comments folks;
Billk;........I didn't keep track of my time, but would guess it took about 2-1/2 hrs. spread over three evenings. I think it took me longer to string the loom than it took to do the actual weaving.

Tanstaafl;..........I say go for it, I built my own loom after looking at some pictures on the net and a fellow forum member (Silver Fox) sent me a couple of pictures of his loom along with measurements. Not that much to it. I got pictures and measurements if you want . P/M me
