I have used the now defunct Buffalo Bullet "Ballet", which is similar to the Hornady PA bullet in a T/C High Plains Sporter with a 1:48 twist. I found the accuracy out to 75 yds. (My personal Limit with Iron Sights) to be quite acceptable for deer sized targets. I'm talking 11/2" to 2" groups at 60 yards using 90 grs of 2f.

When Hornady sat down at the drawing board to design these they did so thinking they would be marketed to 1:66 twist barrels (and that is reflected on the packaging).

I shoot them from a 1:70 twist and they work as well as anything at typical hunting ranges - being no more or less accurate than a PRB, but they do drop quite a bit faster.

I did fire off an email to Hornady asking about these bullets. There response was that they had tested them in a number of twists down to 1:48 and had got "good results".

They are worth trying if you are looking for a little extra "umph" from a 50 cal. They do weigh in the same as a 54 cal roundball if you are feeling a little "under-gunned".

I shot them from a 1:48 tc hawken. I was getting groups that more closely resembles an open choke shotgun patern.

Seriously I was getting 18"flyers and couldn't get a sub 8" group at 50 yds.
They did shoot okay from my traditions 1:66 and shoot decent at 25 yds with the pistol.

See that little guy way up there. If you can see the group on the left target those are three shots with maxi balls

Are you averse to trying Lee REALs?

My Lyman Deerstalker has 1:48" twist and shoots the 320 grn version quite well if I use a felt wad with 70 grns of 3F.
