I have a "cased" muskrat hide (that means it's hollow like a tube, not flat). I'd like to make a pouch/bag out of it and the head would be part of the flap. Any idea where I might find instructions on how to make one?

No pattern-no problem...

The muskrat has been fleshed and tanned, right?

Turn it inside out and sew the bottom together along the legs and tail seams, don't forget to sew shut the front leg holes too...

Cut the neck along the circumference, except the back half and then turn it to where the fur side is out again...

The head will fold over like a flap now because of the weight of the head and the back of the neck has became the hinge...

You can make loops for the back of you want to, but it would look cooler if you tucked it under your sash/belt and had it peeking over the belt...

Wouldn't it be easier with a possum hide? The pouch comes already made. ::

No thanks, I had a pair of kangaroo track shoes once, and it took too long to come back down after goin' over a high hurdle. :p

Dang Musketman...that sounds so good, I may have to go out and find one of the muskrat tube hides.

Thanks! :master:

Ya might find them next to "tube socks" at Wal Mart
