Hey folks, I want to know how to get the trigger guard and trigger assembly removed from my Pedersoli Frontier flintlock. Thanks all if you can help me with this.

It's been a while since I had my Pedersoli Frontier rifle but to the best of my memory :hmm:, all you have to do is to remove the trigger guard. That requires the removal of one screw in the front of the trigger guard and, to the best of my memory :hmm: , the tang bolt must come out to release the rear of the trigger guard. Although, it may have a screw in the rear of the trigger guard. Just do an examination and you will quickly see what needs to be done to remove it. Once it is off, I believe the triggers are held in place by two screws. Remove them and the triggers will come out as a single unit.

BTW, why do you want to remove the triggers?

Thanks to all for the replies. I did git my trigger guard and trigger assembly out. I bought this gun used and I'm cleaning. Lot's of crud build-up in there. billnpatti, don't want to take triggers out yet.

Let me make as suggestion for easy cleaning of parts such as the triggers and the lock. Get a spray can of either automobile brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner. Both work equally well. Take the part outside and spray it liberally with the cleaner to flush out all of the crud. The spray cleaner will really get in there and flush out all of the crud. It is great stuff. Shake it off and let it dry for a few minutes. The stuff dries quickly. Then lightly oil the parts and reassemble. A word of caution, do not :nono: get the stuff on your stock because it is a solvent and can damage the finish. Don't let any overspray get on mama's flowers :cursing: because, like any organic solvent, it is hard on plants.

Good luck with the new rifle. Let us know how it shoots. :hatsoff:

thanks Billnpatti- I cleaned the lock with your info and it came out excellent. There was not as much crud in the trigger asembly as I thought there would be. The lock did have lots crud bluid up and fluid cleaned it very well. I have not shot my rifle yet as it's been below zero here for awile. Thank you for all your info and all other board members. I have leared lots from all of you. I will let you know how she shoots. Thanks, Mike
