I've pretty well buggered it up....suggestions??
Thank you.....ordered!@1911tex, I like an extractor set such as this one offered through Amazon. the extractor grabs through a short left handed flutes on the extractor and the liner will come out easily. These are available at many hardware stores as well as on line.

I think curiosity is a good enough reason to take out a touch hole liner. Why do you want to take it out?
There is almost never a good reason to do so.
Curiosity? And destroy the existing touch hole liner in the process? Guessing with that logic there are a numbers a products around your house opened up in the name of curiosity that need repair or no longer work.I think curiosity is a good enough reason to take out a touch hole liner.
Curiosity is a poor reason to remove a touch hole liner. Some can be easily removed because of a screw slot and some have a socket for an Allen wrench. These imply that the touch hole can be removed for cleaning, but regular removal is simply not necessary. Best to leave a touch hole liner in place until the touch hole is so enlarged that accuracy is lost.I think curiosity is a good enough reason to take out a touch hole liner.
