Took my 50 cal Howdah to the range the today and had several interesting incidents. I installed muskets nipples on both barrels and it gave it a lot hotter fire with more accuracy using a PRB and 25 grns of 2F. One round would not ignite even with several caps so I had to use the CO2 unloader again. It worked well.
For a test, I tried loading a Minie ball down one barrel to see how it would shoot. I rammed it about half way down the barrel and stuck fast. CO2 unloader would not discharge it. Had to get out my extractor. Never used one before but I screwed it into the ball and pulled it right out. Good to know they work. Guess I need to resize those Minie balls.
