When I arrived at the range this morning it was very humid. (I always have a problem with 4f on a humid day with my Flinters. I needed to fill my brass primer and decided to put 1/3- 3f and 1/3- 4f. I left enough room for some air and shook the powder round to make it mix. It seemed to work way better with that mixture than straight 4f. I have used just 3f in the past when it's humid and thought this may help. If any others would like to try it and give a report that would be GREAT.

I tried using 3f as primer for the first time yesterday. I did notice that my pan stayed a lot cleaner than when I use 4f.

I don't shoot my F/L a lot, but when I do I use
3fff in the pan and charge of my .50 Lyman
GPR.Use your pick and brush and I don't think
you will have a problem using 3fff for both.IMO
I am sure there are others.
snake-eyes :hmm:

I'm new to flintlocks but I've used nothing but 3F to prime with so far and had zero problems.
