Selling a super heavy duty hunting or survival knife. Has no markings, may be handmade. 5” blade is 1 1/2” wide and 1/8” thick on the spine. Heavy duty leather handle and sheath, almost 10” overall. Great lifetime knife. 85. shipped

Someone messaged me that this knife looks like an Elmer Keith special from the 60’s or 70’s. Anybody ever see one before?

You look to have an Elmer Keith and Gil Hibben designed bowie knife copy, given in the 1960s as a premium for a subscription to Guns and Ammo magazine.
They were made in Japan and plainly marked on the left side of the blade near the hand guard.
(yours may have been de-farbed)
They were 9 3/4 inches overall length, had a 5-inch blade with solid brass hand guard and hilt, aluminum spacers between leather washers on the handle.
The knife came with a heavy scabbard, sculpted along the sewn and riveted edge and had a belt loop at the top rear side.
The scabbard was designed to hold the knife securely with no snap of other device to secure it.

This is an original Keith pattern knife
