Found a 1978- dated Hy Hunter perc. "derringer" .40 cal. smooth. Nice hand checkered stock,
lots of showy engraving, proofed brass bbl., big 1855-SPAIN on bbl., not at all
authentic, needs lock tuning. Just curious if anyone has seen one of these. Large
letting in lockplate "Derringer Philadelphia" , German silver trigger guard, about 81/2"
overall. Never came across one in all the time I've been in BP hobby. It's cool in a
kitchy sort of way. Never know what will show up at auctions!

I have never seen one but it sounds neat. Photos?
Shucks. I'm not set up for photos, I use library computer and don't have camera, etc. I did take the thing apart and got the lock to work, it was "frozen" when I got it on a display board at auction. Some one had wired it, a 1907 British bayonet, and a Vitelli bolt action rifle onto an aged barn-wood type panel as a display. Cleaned up nice!
