im still hunting around to find a muzzleloading club but i havent had good luck. most of the clubs are reenacting clubs and the requirements to join would cost me more $$ then i can afford at this point.

i did find two clubs in my area that looked promising but one holds their shoots too early in the mourning for me and the other wont respond to my attempts to contact them.

any WA state locals here know of a club that doesnt require reenacting and holds their weekend shoots in the afternoon? (cant do mourning shoots)

thanks

What struck me is the fact you have multiple choices. In many (most?) parts of the country there are no ml clubs within reasonable driving distance.
How expensive is the one you can't afford? Mine is $20.00 a year plus $5.00 for each shoot.
BTW, reenacting is deadly only some of the time. Try it, you might like it.

by expensive i mean they require me to have all my own gear. (musket, clothes, general supplies) im simply too broke at the moment to buy these supplies. i dont own a musket suitable for revolutionary war reenactment at the moment either. (havent seen any civil war reenactment groups)

You may be SOL on time of day. Never heard of a shoot starting in the afternoon. Just not enough daylight in the winter months.

thanks for the list, i saw one on there that said 11:45am this would be late enough for me. (i get off of work around 2am.)

We are getting into a whole 'nuther area here. Admittedly, reenacting is expensive. However, most clubs will let a beginner begin. A 'starter' outfit can be inexpensive. Items can be acquired over time. It is a great benefit if one's wife or girlfriend can, and will, sew outfits for you. If yer gal will do that for you, treat her well and never let her go.
Rev. reenacting is not always done with a Brown Bess. The.....uh....rifleman used a.....uh....rifle.
A step at a time. Hope it works out for you.
Final thought: most reenacting events and rendezvous will have a single day when proper period garb is not required. This is a way to introduce new people to the avocation. It is also a good time to acquire items with which to begin.

biggest problem for Rev reenacting is i dont own a single flintlock yet (got one being made for me).

at the moment im not looking to jump into reenacting. i would just like to find a group of guys/gals who enjoy traditional muzzleloading to hang out with and shoot with. i dont know any one here who even owns a traditional muzzleloader.
