Well our Firearm Season opens this Sat. I was planning on using my M/L. Guess what? It Broke!!!!!!! Called CVA, sure they would fix it, sure they would send me a prepaid shipping label, now the crying part ... it will be 3 - 4 weeks before the Gunsmith can even look at it. Well there goes the M/L season starting in Dec also. My rifle was a CVA Bobcat. Really great shooter; it broke after only 200 rounds fired.

Well good luck to everyone. Get one for me

If you need a loaner, I might be able to help you out. Send me a private message, if you want.

Davids you are typical of the M/Ls I have met online and at the range; always willing to help out. I bought another rifle after thinking about the situation. The CVA Bobcat was a great introduction into Muzzle loading and I truly enjoyed it ”¦ so why not buy a true quality rifle. I picked up a TC Hawkens today. Again thank you for your generous offer.

T/C :applause: Good choice.
I have a GreyHawk and a Renegade, both in .54. I also have a CVA Hawken in .50.
It would almost make me cry to have to go without hunting. I know my wife wouldn't like it much. :cursing:
Always willing to help a fellow shooter, when I can.

Thank you, Stumpy. :hatsoff:
It wouldn't be the first time I've lent a weapon to someone in need.
Come to think about it, my bro-in-law borowed my Mossburg 12 ga. in '93 and he still has it. Oh well, I only shoot my muzzleloaders anyway. :g

I am guessing that what broke is one of the lock springs. CVA springs are interchangeable between almost, if not all, of their locks. Dixie Gun Works sells CVA springs (and most of the other lock parts -- sears, tumblers, etc.). If you're not comfortable attempting the work yourself, I'm down in SE Indiana, near Friendship -- I build and repair muzzleloaders as a hobby/obsession, and I'd install your parts for nothing. Contact me at [email protected] if you like.

Thanks!!!! However I have already sent it off to CVA. It was a very generous offer.
