What is that surrounding the fire????
Where did you do this fine piece of cooking?

I dutch oven cook in my back yard. I dug what is called a bean hole, to use for outdoor fires and cooking. I used an above ground fire ring to line the hole, and works great!

Recipe!!

5-6lb chuck roast, celery, carrots, onions, couple cloves of garlic, 12oz can of beer, and a dutch oven. You don't have to use a camp oven, you can make it in your kitchen oven as well!

Get that DO nice and hot, then sear the roast until it is real brown on the outside! Add the beer, carrots, celery and minced garlic.

You will want to slow cook this for around 4hrs. Smelling this dish cooking is worth it's weight in gold!

After the 4 hours, you can add your potatoes. I like a total cooking time of around 5 hours!

You can salt and pepper some at the end.

This is easy to make, and a super dish! The meat is what really makes the great flavor!

I keep telling you Southeastern and Fla. Boys....we need to get together for a PARTY...and at your house...from the looks of it.

That even smells good on the internet.

Boca...you poor dear. That is a way south of me. Maybe someone in the Fla. group is mid way for a camp or just a hello weekend? But it is hot right now for doing anything except laying low. :hmm:

If you were REALLY down South, I could point you in the right direction. But then, maybe not. It has been 20 years. :hmm: I used to live in Florida City and shoot South/East of Homestead AFB (Which is no more) Had a good little hole back there. When I ran out of ammo, I could just walk an extra hundred feet and go fishing. Call Gov Bush and ask where he shoots!
Have you ever thought about RED SNAPPER in that dutch oven? Or Grouper? (not the square ones) :nono: I did that a couple of times and it really cooks up nice. Hard to clean the DO though but worth it. :results:
