I once had my PayPal Account "Nuked" for selling a 15-Round Magazine. Gunbroker listed them as a payment source citing that it could be used for "some" parts. It took me quite a while to finally receive a complete list from PayPal as to what it can and cannot be used for. It took another three years to get my account back. I told them that the list on Gun Broker was vague and ambiguous!

While very OT from PayPal bashing i must say my last premium in Northern California was going to be near $6000 in 2013 so i sold the place and joined the Cal exodus. FWIW 0nly Lloyds of London would cover new buyers and then they canceled after a year leaving only the phony CA "fair" plan,
My stepson live in Northern Il. and his property tax is over $12000/yr. talk about crazy!

I live in TN but have property in IL. My timber ground taxes increased triple the amount just in one year (2021-2022).
I have no idea why these folks don't oust these thieves!! I have a neighbor that is die hard Democrat. My grand daddy, and my daddy voted democrat and I vote democrat!! Dumbest reason I ever heard, but, you know...shampoo bottles with instructions!! Anyway, we both worked in the gas fields. He votes for Obamy, a year later he gets layed off and he pisses and moans about it! I told him, Lou you took a voluntary layoff! He gets all mad and cussin' and says "no I didn't"!! I really pi$$ed him off then, I said, "sure you did, you voted for the man who shut down oil & gas drilling, and he's shutting us down". I just walked away laughing.

Homeowners Insurance?? Just had an inspector come out. Nice guy. Don't think it was the same guy that came out a few years ago. Last time, got a letter after the inspection from the Ins. Co saying they were going to cancel my Homeowners Ins. Reasons?
House needed to be painted?? Think it was around 30* and paint don't dry when it's cold. Bunch more CRAP and I let them know EXACTLY what I thought of them!! Sent them a reply letter!!
Did mention that just because they got their BUTTS handed to them from the fires we just had, they were going after us "old folks" that had NEVER filed a Homeowners claim? Also mentioned that the "agent" had never contacted me about anything except to sell me more Ins? They like the premiums but don't like paying out the claims. I also mentioned that I had sent a copy of the letter to the State Insurance Commissioner. My guess is the agent had a hard time sitting down when I got thru with him AND the Ins. Company.
I also told them to cancel my Life and Auto policies on my 3 cars and I would send them a list of family members that would also cancel their policies.
Funny that after 50+ years and me NEVER filing a Homeowners claim, they want to cancel my policy because of a paint job? Other than the paint color, the house is the same as it was 30, 40 or 50 years ago. Something brakes, I don't call the Ins. Co. I fix it. Fire station is still the same distance from my house as it's been for the last 70 + years.
Then I got the but, but, but? The agent finally came out and said to forget the cancel thing and all was well. Imagine that?
Still waiting for the latest Inspection report. Homey don't play those Ins. games. :( ;)
Allstate did something similar. Inspected house in July for renewal and got "All OK". Then, in December got letter that said they did not accept the inspection report(it was their contracted inspector) and a new inspection says roof needs to be reshingled to get renewed. I have three months to comply and if not completed my policy will be cancelled. At this point there is over a foot of snow on the roof and nobody around here shingles in winter. I contacted Allstate and gave them the contractor's name who will reshingle in the Spring. Also a copy of the signed contract that confirmed the down payment. Not good enough --- "You have 3 months to comply...".
Spent a day trying to find new coverage. Landed on Homesite by Progressive who said show us the contract and as long as it will be replaced in Spring then no problem. They now have a new customer. All my other Allstate policies I cancelled and moved. Additional benefit -- premium is less, too!
I am not pushing Progressive just ponting out they helped me out when Allstate, who I had been with since 1985 screwed me over royally,,,,

One more point. Consumers did a study on insurance companies. Took them over 5 years as insurance companies did not want to part with data. Lots of points but the biggest in my mind is that insurance companies do NOT reward you for long service. In fact, they do studies to find the "jumpers" and offer them deals to renew or better rates. Long standing customers are thought of as "not likely to jump" so they get rate hikes cuz the insurance companies think they will ***** but NOT switch!! Good idea to review policies every so often ang make them "sharpen their pencil..."
ps Turns out Allstate is one of the worst in terms of punishing long term customers....so shame on me!
