Did any of you hunt Idaho's unit 52 primitive muzzleloader hunt for mule deer? It was an unlimited draw for the east side of unit 52 from early october until november 09th. I hunted it, thinking most people would get discouraged early and I would have the unit to myself at the end. BOY! was I wrong. I think everyone else thought the same thing or there was much interest in the week later than normal closing date. The main mountain range in the unit was just CRAWLING with hunters the entire week from nov.1-9. I just couldnt put myself through that scene, even though that was probably where most of the deer were. I opted to hunt less attractive areas and allow myself to enjoy some solitude and companionship with my father-in-law. We had a good time even though I didnt get a huge buck like i wanted to. I made a clean shot on a small buck and my family and i have some wonderful venison to enjoy.
