Folks, I'm not "from" Idaho...kinda wish I was. And, I do wish I lived there at least once every year, as I have got REAL TIRED of supporting your Game Dept. with my non-resident hunting fees

I do enjoy tour state when it comes to hunting :applause:

I hunt up on the North Fork of the Clearwater, around Kelly Forks, and Lookout. (Just West of Lolo pass) I have been hunting there since back in the 1970's, when we used to drive up from El Paso, Texas....Two weeks every year was spent there. Non Resident Hunting license with Bear and Elk Tags ran less than $125 for each of us back in those days! Additional Bear Tags were $5.00 each....can you imagine!

I lost a lifelong, very dear friend in Pierce a few years back, taking an Elk in for processing when he had the "big one". Idaho does hold a special place in my heart, as you can well imagine.

If there is anyplace in this world that I had rather be, other than where I am right now, it would be having a cabin just out of Orofino on the way to Headquarters.

God was in a good mood when he created that neck of the woods, and it certainly shows.

I envy you fellers who live there.

Russ

you are out there!!!!!
snake-eyes :peace: :) :)

I grew up in the Wood River Valley and used to shoot at Stanton's Crossing every Father's Day Weekend and up to Buffalo Jump in Challis. I wish that I could find out if they were still doing these shoots or if the Wood River Muzzleloaders still exists.

....*sigh*....homesick....

Russ,
I love the Clearwater country as well. Pierce is a beautiful little town. I shot my first mature Tom turkey up there some years ago. We have friends in Weippe that we stay with every spring for a week. I would like to retire up there.
Stumblinbuffler,
I am up in the Wood River Valley every day, working. You wouldn't believe what property values are up there now! The "track shacks" in Woodside, Hailey that were built in the 70's and 80's (1300 sf ) are worth 290,000 now! I will try to find out about the Wood River Muzzleloaders for you. Take care and thanks for the "Howdy's"

Oh, I'd believe it...I swore I would never move back there when the put up the first stop light and got the first McDonalds. My Dad used to own the Muleshoe Saloon there on Main and was manager at the Mint, both of which are now, I am sure, gone. The Mint I know was bought years ago, but I'd interested to know what they call the Shoe now.

Thanks for looking for me.
