It is difficult to find some tools that are not made in china. I usually look through all the drill bits to find some other country besides china. Typically it's still an Asian country, but at least it's not china.

I bought last year two different sheath knives, and a double-bitted, hand axe. 😶

I stumbled across them looking for items similar to what was owned and carried by George Washington Sears aka Nessmuk. One of the knives and the double-bitted hand axe were very close in size and shape to the sheath knife and double-bitted hand axe that he carried (he also carried a double bladed folding knife). They "looked" OK, but how were they in reality ???

They were from a company called Marbles. So Marbles makes a LOT of it's stuff in of all places El Salvador. NO Really! The stuff I got was rather good, and not expensive. The only thing was Nessmuk had one of the two edges on the axe made to a much sharper angle, so he could split wood with the standard angled edge, and hew small trees with the other edge, having the sharper angle. Online, folks criticize the axe, but in reality they show their ignorance. The axe is patterned after a custom made axe carried by a 5' 4", 120 lb. man with tuberculosis, who solo-paddled a custom made 11' canoe when camping, so it's a custom belt-hatchet, not a camp axe (DUH).
