only but at work today I cut some err rather punched some old leather welding gloves.

I was wondering if any one here has tried leather wads?
They must be a good 1/16" and some less thick.
They won't work over the shot though, to soft.

I used some for over powder (dry leather) did not see any difference so went back to the cardboard, I really did not do enough shooting to draw an honest conclusion in all honesty.

I often have small scraps of 1/8" thick cowhide left from making knife scabbards and handgun holsters. I like it for those odd gauges where I just want to punch out a few. Leather cuts much more easily than does thick cardboard and seems to work just as well for wads. One can cut quite a few 32 gauge wads out of a scrap that would otherwise just be thrown away.
