went to the range today to settle on a turkey load for my T.C. 56. smoothbore. after experamenting with a few loads i settled on 80 grains ff goex, 1 58. cal wonder wad, equal volume of #5 shot to the 80 grains of ff and 1 thin over shot card. at 15-18 yards i was getting anywhere from 14 to 18 pellets in the head and neck area. this is very good as far as i am concerned as half the fun is getting them in close and i do not feel the need or want to shoot past 15 yards. was a good day!

At 15 yds. with that much powder, you don't really need any shot!
You shoud be able to pluck and cook, just with the powder flash!
Good hunting and good luck.

Gotta admit I hadn't considered turkey with my T/C .56, but with a pattern like that why not?
