Received a new (to me) Lancaster style flintlock and the length of pull is useable for me but I am thinking of increasing the LOP a bit. A friend recommended cutting some boot felt to match the butt and covering it with leather, to make it look more period correct. Anyone have any photos of using leather in a manner similar to this for increasing LOP? Appreciate any ideas. Not sure if this is the correct forum for this subject. Thanks

I guess that would look HC/PC'ish, as in what an 18th century Bubba would do. It's not a new name. They've been destroying historical artifacts since Moses dropped the tablets.

In all seriousness though, what is the LOP now, and how tall / big are you? Unless it's shorter than 12 1/2", and you are King Kong, most people can adjust their shooting style or worn clothing to accommodate the stock. I'm 5'8" and have guns with a 15 1/2" LOP down to a 12 1/2" LOP that I can make work

I've been wondering the same thing about my T/C Hawken. I could use a little extra length on the stock. I thought about a recoil pad but I'm not sure how to do that and not have it look ridiculous.

And yes, I am more Orangutan than Munchkin, size does matter.
