I was watching the tube yesterday evening and the promos for "independence" came on. It's a show about a town called "Independence". One shot came up and lo and behold: a cap&ball revolver. It happened fast and all I could see was that the nipples had no caps. Anyone see this show or know anything about it? I can't recall what station it was.

Don't let that get to you. In one of my favorite westerns Lee Van Cleef has a revolver with percussion caps quite visible; yet his gun belt is filled with revolver cartridges. And then there's the submachine guns. The characters are firing full auto for what seems several minutes. The flaw there is that a 30 round mag will be emptied in not more than 3 seconds and probably under.

Just reran the first episode: Walker's great great grandmother was about to shoot the bad guy who shot her husband and the camera took a shot of the revolver. They blurred the barrel just like TV blurs certain parts of the body. My wife could almost make out 'Pietta' on the barrel. Amazing since we got hooked on muzzleloaders how we pay attention to the old weapons.

Or the guy beaten for 10 minutes with solid shots to the face with bare knuckles and gets up and brushes himself off without a scratch.
