well as you know i have a native persona.i started to carve on my horn but then i got to thinking.what did indians carve into their horns?are there any originals that i could see?are there any reproductions that i could see that has a native style to it? thanks you guys

Yes...there are some photo documents
in Mr. Jim Dresslars recent book on powder
horns...several have effigy carved spouts..
and several are scrimshawed ...also, I think
Mr. (???.. I should know his name ) shows how to carve a Native American pattern horn in one of the earlier "Books of Buckskinning".

It seems there is a documentable "style" you
could pattern after for an eastern persona.
hope this gets you started...

you could also start carving the horn like a white man owned it and then skrim in some native designs.

Dresslars book has afew indian horns.I recently carved the micmac horn from the book as my personal horn. There is also a choctaw horn Ive seen with vines relief carved on it. But Dresslars book is the best source Ive seen. Ones listed as indian: Chief Paugus Horn, 1748 face horn(appears to beindian),Jonas wood horn, indian influenced at least, the Seth KArenhargowagh Horn, fought with jos. Brant, Indian trade silver horn. The Beuachamp horn, indian made with later additions,King sacket horn,1785 indian horn and the Micmac horn. The book is quite expensive so borrow a copy to see if anything trips your trigger. Also online the American Museum of Natural History collections include some indian horns but pic are too poor to get any good scrim ideas from. Horns were traded, horns made and horns captured. Hope this helps you
