well, if it is as I suspect, pull the knob to the rear, and hold it there by putting the bale over it. Turn the capper over, and put your caps in via the hole you'll see exposed. The caps should go in open side first. I could not see the capper you bought, but I'm describing the operation of two that I own..Hank
 
To load the capper push the the little round knob all the way to the far end compressing the spring. Flip the wire loop over the knob to hold it in place. Place caps thru the little round hole making sure they are oriented correctly (open end toward the slot). You will have to tilt the capper so they slide down to the end as you load them. Once full, release the knob. Capper is now full. To cap your rifle, use the knob to push a cap into the spring steel fingers. Push cap down onto nipple and pull the capper away.
