Is Interarms and Investarms the same or are they differnt companys, which one makes lyman and cabelas firearms.

I have read on this forum people claming both interarms and investarms to be the importers or makers of lyman and cabelas, just trying to work out who is who.I just picked up a .58 hawken and was told its a Interarms,it has a large I stamped on the barrel and says made in Italy.

Interarms was the old Interarmco that Sam Cummings (?) set up back in the 1950's. They imported tons of stuff and had several brick warehouses down by the Potomac River in Alexandria, Virginia. Rumor had it that he once refused to fill an order for a South American revolution. In short, if you wanted it badly enough, they could get it for you. They also imported a lot of nice domestic guns like the Mark X Mausers and made the Virgina Dragoon single actions. Went out of business maybe ten years ago when he died and his relatives liquidated it. I still think about them every time I see those old warehouses, none of which had windows. Really fired the imagination.
